Sigma Theta Tau Inductees – Class of 2013 Posted on October 30th, 2012 by

Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is the honor society of nursing with chapters located all over the world.  The mission of the organization is to improve the health of the world’s people.  Chi-at-Large is the local chapter formed by Bethel University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, St. Olaf College, and St. Catherine University.

There are two ways to become a member of STTI.  First, graduating students are invited to membership in the fall semester of their senior year.  Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, rank in the upper one-third of their nursing class, and receive at least two nominations by nursing faculty.  Eligible MINC students have received an invitation to join STTI and attend the Induction Ceremony held at St. Olaf College on November 3, 2012.

The second way to become a member is available to practicing nurses.  Practicing nurses who exhibit leadership qualities and are recommended by a current STTI member are eligible to join the organization as a community member.  Any current senior student, who is not invited to membership this fall, is encourage to seek future membership as a community member.  More information can be obtained from the Department of Nursing Chairperson (Barbara Zust at Gustavus or Diana Neal at St. Olaf).

Best wishes to the newly inducted MINC members from the Class of 2013!  From the Gustavus class, the new members are:  Amy Brooks, Alyssa Gaulrapp, Laura Goebel, Emily Hassenstab, Kelsey Lucia, Kassie Lueth, Christina Mantey, Samantha Opsahl, Kelli Phillips, Sarah Strand, and Sydnie Wigand.
