Congratulations to junior nursing student, Kirstin Buck, who was named a Gerhard T. Alexis Scholar for the academic year, 2015-2016. This prize is presented to junior students who have achieved the highest academic record. Kirstin will be honored on May 7, at the Honor’s Day ceremony. Congratulations, Kirstin!!
Megan Gustafson, senior nursing student, has been chosen along with three other Gustavus students ( 2 from Business, and 1 from the sciences) to participate in the Mayo Innovation Scholars program. Nursing students Emily Johnson and Jena Nutzman provide foot massages for dancers at the Mankato Pow Wow, Sept. 19, 2015. The annual Pow Wow commemorates the 38+ 2 Dakota people who were hanged in Mankato in 1862. The Pow Wow intent is to bring peace and healing to all people.
The senior nursing class welcomed the junior class into the program by providing a breakfast and get-to-know each other gathering. In staying with the tradition, the students also painted the rock on the hill as a way to show their Gustie Nursing pride!
