Ali Anderson,’16 Reflects on Summer Pediatric Internship Posted on September 7th, 2015 by

IMG_7710“This past summer I was given the opportunity to expand my nursing skills beyond that of the classroom. I lived in Fargo, ND working at Sanford Medical Center splitting my time between the Pediatric Floor and Pediatric Day Unit with opportunities to float to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit as well as the Birth Center. By the end of this experience, the goal was to be able to work as a fully functioning (with limitations as a student) nurse taking on a full load successfully. This goal was accomplished with the help of my schooling from Gustavus Adolphus College as well as from Sanford Health itself. The amazing experience I gained from this internship is irreplaceable and I will take it with me as I grow as a person and in my nursing career. My love of pediatrics grew even more and this opportunity helped give me a jump start on hopefully a pediatric nursing career in the future.”
