kaileecarlsonTell us a little bit about yourself: I grew up in Chisago City, MN.  I love being active and am on the cross country team at Gustavus.  One of my biggest passions in life is traveling!  I recently got back from spending 6 weeks in Alaska doing nursing clinicals and was in Sweden this past June for an internship.  I also love to spend time with my family, play piano, do yoga, spend time on the lake, and go camping and backpacking.

Why did you choose Nursing as a major? I chose nursing because I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world and the options of where you can work and who you can work with in nursing are endless.

What’s your favorite clinical rotation and why? My favorite clinical so far was definitely a tie between my Public Health and OB rotations in Alaska this fall.  I had tons of hands-on experience and the nurses and care team there were phenomenal and taught me more than I could have ever imagined.

What are your career goals or plans after graduation? I plan to become a traveling nurse, possibly in an underserved area and then go on to graduate school for an integrative health degree.
