Tell us a little bit about yourself: I was raised in Stillwater Minnesota by two amazing parents, Peg & Brennan, and two equally amazing older sisters. I transferred to Gustavus from Hiram College, a small liberal arts school in OH. I’ve always been passionate about nursing and found that Gustavus was a more welcoming location for me to complete my BSN education.

I chose nursing due to the fact that caring for others has always been a natural instinct and desire of mine. I find the everyday work of a registered nurse, though extremely challenging, to be both inspiring and empowering. As a nurse-to-be, I feel that am able to take hands-on action everyday that aids in forming the world we deserve to live in.

So far, I have had the greatest appreciation for the Obstetric rotation I’ve had the opportunity to take part in. I’ve always dreamed of working on an OB unit; the miracle of pregnancy and new life is truly as amazing as I had always imagined. There is nothing comparable to welcoming our future into this world.

I will hopefully be passing boards and then finding a position in women’s health, so that I can pursue my dream of becoming a nurse midwife.
