Renn-McCartney

McCartney working at a hospital in Petatlán, Mexico.

Tell us a little bit about yourself: I love long distance running, I play french horn in the Symphony Orchestra, am a CF in College View and am from Baraboo, WI!

Why did you choose Nursing as a major? I chose nursing because I felt that out of all of the health careers, nurses had the most direct patient contact and the most interaction. I also feel like nursing is one of the most direct ways to help make people’s lives better and a bit happier.

What’s your favorite clinical rotation and why? I loved my time at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis on the pediatric oncology floor. It was so fulfilling to be able to make these little kids a bit happier during our time there.

What are your career goals or plans after graduation? I hope to work with the pediatric population or in the emergency department. I am also passionate about international healthcare and volunteering abroad.
