Gustavus Nursing at Sigma Theta Tau Research Forum Posted on December 4th, 2013 by

Lynnea Myers, Assistant Professor of Nursing, presented a poster titled “Nursing Student Counselors’ Perceptions of their Role in a Summer Institute of Nursing” at the Sigma Theta Tau Mu Lambda Chapter Annual Research Forum on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. The poster highlighted research Lynnea conducted exploring the possible motivations for students to participate in teaching roles such as that of a counselor through the Institute and the relationship to a potential future role in academic or clinical nursing education. Additionally, Lynnea Myers and Nicole Beckman served as a faculty sponsor at the forum for Joshua Heinzen and Claire Petchler, who presented a podium
session on their independent student research project titled “Compassion Fatigue in Rural Midwestern Nurses.” Lynnea also served as a faculty sponsor for Madeline Randall who presented a podium session also on her independent research project titled “An Exploration of the Perceptions of High School Students Related to the Profession in 20130926_94Nursing.”
